The Goethals Bridge Replacement Project was a design-build project for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. The project aimed to replace the existing Goethals Bridge which spanned the Arthur Kill River on I-278 connecting Elizabeth, New Jersey and Staten Island, New York. The existing bridge, built in the 1920s, was demolished and replaced with dual bridges. It is anticipated that the two new spans will carry approximately 14 million vehicles annually.

UrbanTech was contracted with Kiewit-Weeks-Massman, AJV (KWM) to provide construction engineering services throughout the project from 2014-2017. UrbanTech’s detailed scope of work included stability analysis of pylon rebar cage construction, support towers, and tension tie platforms.
