Project Manager

Urbantech is seeking for motivated structural engineers to join our headquarters office in New York City and be responsible for design of construction engineering related projects to assist contractor clients building the infrastructure surrounding the city. The job responsibilities include functioning as a project manager to direct staff and coordinate construction drawing and specification preparation. Responsibilities also include attending client meetings, coordinating directly with clients, reviewing shop drawings, performing field inspections and other construction service related work.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or equivalent in Civil/Structural/Architecture Engineering.

  • Ten (10) years minimum of experience as a structural engineer preferably in New Jersey or New York. Credit for work in the construction industry is preferred.

  • Experience in construction engineering: heavy lift planning, rigging design, temporary shoring, construction sequencing, bridge load rating, demolition engineering, etc.

  • PE license preferable in NJ or NY.

  • Experience coordinating with public agencies preferred, but not required: NJDOT, NJTP, NJTransit, PANYNJ, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, TBTA, etc.

  • Proficiency using finite element design software such as LARSA.

  • Proficiency using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD for developing final construction drawings. Revit proficiency is a plus.

  • Knowledge of standard codes and specifications (AASHTO, AISC, ACI, AREMA, IBC).

  • Strong communication skills
